Alarm scare
I was working on my school assignment, and suddenly, the fire alarm when off in my apartment! It was so loud, that both my ... cat Pumpkin and I jumped up. I was like what the heck, I didn't cook anything, so it wasn't me, LOL. Luckily, just as I was talking to the office, the two of the three best maintenance teams at Stoneleigh at the Reserve, Kirk, and Patrick were in the building and heard my alarm. They sprang into action, removing my alarm and placing a bucket to catch the leaking water. Turns out the neighbor upstairs was washing, and her washer overflowed, causing to trigger my alarm and leak water. Anyway, all is good, Pumpkin came out from under the bed. They will be checking back tomorrow to access any ceiling damage and make sure the industrial fan they left dried up the carpet. Now, I am ready for some pool time! Thank you Kirk & Patrick! I lived here for 1 year and it was a great place to live. Loved how close it was to everything and the community was very ... welcoming. Noise was an issue as I could clearly hear the people living above and next to me at all times of the day/night but most apartments seem to have that problem. The staff was great but there was quite a bit of turnover while I lived there and a couple times they did not resolve issues when made aware which was unfortunate. Overall, I've had positive interactions with all employees except one. Maybe it's difficult to live in the place that you ... work, but having this employee living down the hall has been nothing but a nightmare. Living in any apartment involves being around a lot of people and can be trying at times, and often there's that one neighbor who complains about all the other neighbors. When that neighbor happens to work at the office, his complaints are immediately elevated to a higher level than an average resident. It becomes difficult to plead your case if the office employee is prone to exaggeration and overreaction. Although it may be easier to speak with the office if it's where you work, processing complaints through the office immediately puts everyone on the defensive. If there's a suggestion on how I could improve my interactions with other residents, I would appreciate it if that other resident contact me directly. I have a toilet that literally needs to be plunged daily. No one should have to do that. I just want a new toilet. But they ... ignore me now. They've been out twice and pretend to fix. My dishwasher is junk. The kitchen cupboards are junk. Love the high ceilings and the layout though. Love large laundry room. Quiet and clean in halls. Our carpet still smells weird.
